Summer 2025 is shaping up to be a dream for cozy gamers and fans of the life sim genre!
If you missed it, be sure to check out some of the newly released cozy games that we covered in our 10 New Cozy Games for Steam and Nintendo Switch, many already released in the first few months of the year. Now, we’re looking ahead to Summer 2025!
It’s about to be a big summer for Nintendo Switch gamers, with the release of the Switch 2 happening June 5, 2025; accompanied by plenty of release titles and remasters to enjoy.
1. Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma

A brand new installment in the beloved Rune Factory series, Guardians of Azuma blends farming, fantasy combat, and cozy life sim elements in a vibrant new region. Expect familiar gameplay with some fresh twists—perfect for fans of magic-infused daily life. The new installment to the series will be releasing on both Switch and Switch 2 on June 5th and is available for preorder now.
If you haven’t tried Rune Factory 4 Special on Switch, I would also highly recommend this one! It was originally a 3DS game, and is one of my personal favorites in the series.
2. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time

This sequel to Fantasy Life on 3DS, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time drops you into a charming world where you can choose your profession, explore dungeons, and help rebuild a mysterious island. It’s one part adventure, one part cozy lifestyle sim, all wrapped in a nostalgic Nintendo Switch package! Not long to wait on this one, it’s releasing on May 21st!
3. Tales of the Shire

🎮 Platforms: PC, Playstation, XBox and Nintendo Switch
Live out your hobbit dreams in this Lord of the Rings-inspired farming sim, set to release on all consoles! Tales of the Shire promises peaceful village life, gardening, and warm hobbit meals—all set in the coziest corner of Middle-earth. This game is priced at $39.99 which is a steal compared to the ever-rising cost of games in 2025.
4. Fields of Mistria
🗓 Release Date: August 5, 2025
🎮 Platforms: PC
After a successful early access run on Steam, including multiple content updates, this magical farming sim inspired by Stardew Valley with a touch of Sailor Moon magic is getting its full release!
Many cozy gamers have fully enjoyed and played through the entire early access period with lots of glowing reviews. Fields of Mistria features vibrant pixel art, tons of outfit and character customizations, in-depth relationship building, and just enough exploration. It’s ideal for fans of Littlewood, Harvest Moon, and Stardew Valley with an extra dose of fantasy.
