The Ultimate Virgo Gift Guide for Readers, Gamers and Homebodies

a book open with plants on table. text reads "happy virgo season"

At first thought, choosing a gift for a Virgo may seem like a daunting task; that’s why I’ve hand-picked this Virgo Gift Guide, inspired by the Virgos in my own life!

So, what does a Virgo like?

Sure, they may be picky – but they also appreciate useful, beautiful things in life. Think home gadgets that streamline their workflow, simple pleasures like a well-written book, or a place to spill out their streams of consciousness onto paper.

Virgos are also prone to collecting and diving head first into their hobbies, in my experience!

We’ve got lots of ideas for whatever their preferred trinkets are in this ultimate Virgo gift guide! Even better, maybe you’re a Virgo yourself looking for a little something that fuels your intellectual, mercurial desires. You deserve it.

Virgos are often considered one of the biggest “homebodies” of the zodiac. That’s why this zodiac sign inspired guide is perfect for gamers, readers, and earth signs who simply love a good night in with one of their favorite hobbies.

It wouldn’t be a Virgo season gift recommendations list without starting off strong with books.

The Virgo book aisles: fantasy fiction & self-help

The earth sign Virgo (August 23 – September 22) is a notorious perfectionist – often so methodical and pragmatic that they can lose sight of the bigger picture along the way.

The Perfectionist’s Guide to Losing Control by Katherine Morgan Schafler

The Perfectionist’s Guide to Losing Control  is a great option for the person who could benefit from letting go of rigid schedules and routines in favor of allowing mistakes, lessons and growth to happen naturally.

If non-fiction isn’t really their vibe, then look for a whimsical fantasy – think lush forests, witchy themes and strong female characters.

Circe by Madeline Miller

Nothing says Virgo like reading a well-written story about a women’s strength, resilience and beauty while appreciating the opportunity to see a situation through another person’s point of view. After all, this star sign is often associated with the goddess of justice, among other goddesses and female figures.

CIRCE is not centered around the goddess of justice, but a mythological story about a witch and her experiences in the Greek Heroic Age. The book is inspired by many different Greek myths, and you’ll meet plenty of gods and goddesses along the way.

This epic novel is gorgeously written, heart-wrenching and inspiring.  Not only would I recommend this to any earth sign, but anyone who enjoys mythology and a strong female character in general. It’s absolutely fantastic, and was chosen as a Goodreads Choice Award Winner

The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah

This one’s another female-led story that touches on a woman’s innate desire to protect and care for her children, and persevere through all obstacles; with many sacrifices along the way. I won’t lie – this book is bleak. Depressing. But entirely Virgo-coded and worth the emotional rollercoaster.

Did you know, Virgo is also associated with Demeter, the goddess of wheat, agriculture and grain? This was my first thought when thinking of the setting in The Four Winds: 1930s dust-bowl America.

Simulation and time management games are a Virgo’s jam

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life on Nintendo Switch

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life was a millenial Gamecube favorite. Like many in its genre, this game features time management, need for daily routine, and lots of goals to work toward. Can you think of anything more perfect for a Virgo’s desire to plan, collect, organize and well, control their town?

Grab this adorable game on the Nintendo Switch now! Want to really spoil them? The premium edition includes some fun extras.

Strange Horticulture on Nintendo Switch, Steam, etc.

Strange Horticulture is a gem of an indie game that features gorgeous artwork, an interesting mystery to solve and a nice gameplay loop. The plant illustrations alone are reason enough to grab this title!

For more on this creepy, cozy game I wish more people talked about:

“Strange Horticulture is an occult puzzle game in which you play as the proprietor of a local plant store. Find and identify new plants, pet your cat, speak to a coven, or join a cult.”

Happy homebody gifts for their space

Virgos are attracted to all things greenery. But all those plants start to add up, don’t they? This plant stand looks amazing in a well-lit corner and looks great too.

A place to organize all their thoughts is a no-brainer. This genuine leather planner is classy and customizable, with A-6 bindings. I prefer these kinds of planners because they can be swapped out and used for tons of individual needs.

Working from home, gaming or working on crafts, things can get messy! Using a desktop organizer is a great way to keep all that clutter neat and tidy.

Egyptian Cotton Sheets

You may not be able to gift the power of a good night’s sleep, but you can sure give a gift that helps them doze off in comfort!

This set of sage green, 100% Certified Egyptian Cotton Sheets have a soft, sateen finish and feel a lot more expensive than they really are. Plus, they’re highly rated so you know it’ll satisfy any Virgo in your life.

Lessons Learned from Virgo Season

Even if you’re not gifting this Virgo season and don’t need this Virgo gift guide, take this time to savor the end of summer. Spend some time outdoors and try to escape from the routine, even just for a moment.

Reach out to someone you love, perform an act of service or even just send a text. Offering your support in small ways can make such a huge difference, no matter what their star sign.

Or hey, if you really want to get in the Virgo spirit…take some time to deep clean your closet or organize your paperwork before year’s end. It’s only fitting!
